How does the PDC Pro Tour ranking work?
The PDC Pro Tour Order of Merit — also referred to as the annual Pro Tour ranking — counts only prize money earned at Players Championship and European Tour events during the current calendar year. Unlike the 2-Year Order of Merit, it resets to zero on 1 January each year, making it a direct measure of a player's current form on the weekly tour circuit.
This ranking plays a decisive role in qualifying for several major PDC events: the World Matchplay, World Grand Prix, Grand Slam of Darts, and Players Championship Finals. Qualifying thresholds vary by event, but a player's position in this annual Order of Merit is always the determining factor for automatic spots. Rankings are updated after every Players Championship and European Tour event, sometimes multiple times in a single week.
