The tournament takes place every year between mid-December and early January at Alexandra Palace (Ally Pally) in London, over a three-week period.
Total prize money exceeds £2.5 million, with £500,000 for the winner, £200,000 for the runner-up, and prize money for every round.
The top 32 players on the PDC Order of Merit qualify automatically. Remaining places are allocated via the Pro Tour Order of Merit, UK Open, and international qualifiers.
The tournament follows a knockout format with 96 players. Matches range from best of 5 sets in the first round to best of 13 sets in the final.
