Phil Taylor
Phil Taylor Biography
Phil Taylor, known as "The Power", is widely regarded as the greatest darts player of all time. Born on 13 August 1960 in Stoke-on-Trent, England, he won 16 World Championships (8 BDO, 8 PDC) between 1990 and 2013 — an all-time record across the sport.
Taking up the professional circuit in 1988 under the mentorship of Eric Bristow, Taylor amassed 216 major titles, including 16 World Matchplays, 11 World Grand Prix, 6 Premier Leagues, and 5 UK Opens. He also holds the record for the highest televised average (118.66) and has hit 11 televised nine-dart finishes, another tour record.
He retired from competitive darts after the 2018 PDC World Championship final, leaving behind the benchmark against which every new generation — Luke Littler, Michael van Gerwen — is inevitably measured.
