Raymond van Barneveld (born 1967, Netherlands) is one of the true legends of world darts. Known universally as “Barney”, he is a five-time World Champion — four times with the BDO (1998, 1999, 2003, 2005) and once with the PDC (2007) — accumulating 26 PDC titles during a remarkable career. His PDC world title, won in a legendary nine-set final against Phil Taylor, is considered one of the greatest matches ever played. Van Barneveld’s expressive style, thunderous finishing, and passionate celebrations made him one of the most entertaining players of his generation. A Dutch national hero, he inspired a generation of Dutch players, including his compatriot Michael van Gerwen, and remains deeply respected throughout the global darts community.
