Marcel Walpen

Marcel Walpen, born on 24 February 1976 in Röthenbach, Switzerland, is widely regarded as the best Swiss player in PDC history. Known as “The Swiss”, Walpen has consistently represented his country on the international darts stage, accumulating six PDC titles across a career that began professionally in 2010.

Walpen’s longevity on the PDC circuit is a testament to his technical discipline and competitive resilience. He has been a regular fixture at ProTour and European Challenge events, converting his consistent performances into ranking points year after year. His success helped raise the profile of Swiss darts within the broader European scene, inspiring a new generation of players from the Alpine nations.

Without a recorded nine-dart finish, Walpen’s game is built on precision and composure rather than explosive scoring bursts. His six career titles confirm a player who peaks at the right moments, making him the definitive standard-bearer for professional darts in Switzerland.
